As many of you know my boys are all into to baseball big and have been excited about the new park opening in Peoria. All indications are that this is a top notch park. Now if we could just get some ball fields in northern Peoria. Here is the info on the new park that I attached.
Residents are invited to the grand opening of Peoria's latest addition to its park system, Pioneer Community Park, 8755 N. 83rd Ave., at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.
The $20 million park sits on 83 acres and includes six lighted dual-use ball fields with shaded seating, four lighted soccer fields, a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs, a 5-acre fishing lake, picnic areas, a playground, splash pad and Heritage Garden.
Pioneer is the city's sixth park to be constructed since 2011.
